Release notes 2.23

You should always read the release notes and the update procedure before updating Librex. They sometimes contain installation instructions for a specific version update.

If the notes contain the word WARNING, it is important to verify if the version could affect your current operations. It's possible to have a different behavior of some Librex specifics modules which requires modifications to your current installation.

The Librex server can take up to a few minutes to restart the first time after an update.

If your version, before the update, is lower than 2.20.0, it is imperative to process all transmissions (emails, faxes and printings). All transmissions not processed will be lost. It should be noted that, from 2.20.0 and on, this will not be necessary.

If your version, before the update, is lower than 2.21.0, it is imperative to process all the documents on line requests. All document online requests not processed will be lost. It should be noted that, from 2.21.0 and on, this will not be necessary.

From version 2.22.0, we strongly recommend to use the installer “ClientInstall[2.22.X].exe” matching your version, for any new Librex client installation. The first update time has been strongly reduced. Please note that an installation on Windows Vista require this installer.

Version 2.20 and lower are not supported anymore. We recommanded that you stay up to date.

Version 2.23

• An error occurs when opening the scanning or importation window.

• If the last result of an external request was empty, an error occurred.
• In the “.invalid” file creation notification, the invalid user text has been removed.
• The user’s preferences where not loaded in the scanning and importation window.

• If the “.invalid” file creation notification user is changed, the automatic controller must be restarted before the change is applied.

• When scanning an error could occur, scanner out of memory.
• In the scanning and the importation window the field containing batches names would not display names properly all the time.
• In the scanning and importation windows, a new shortcut has been added, when populating a document property. (Enter trigger document validation just like 2.22 and older versions)
• Show the old image quality when a black and white image is shown with a zoom of less than 50% when the option “Raise image quality” isn’t selected.

• The scanning speed has been increased.

• In the controllers, some inconstancy in the cache can occur after a manual operation.
• Some document’s type wasn’t showing properly in LibrexWEB.

• In the scanning window, it was impossible to select new batch when a property was in edition.
• LibrexWEB wasn’t able to show documents anymore. This problem was introduced in version 2.23.0.

• Improved image quality in the visualisation window. Accessible from the menu Display ? Raise the image quality, in the visualization window, the scanning window, the importation window and all other places where a document is shown.
• Modifications to the Alfresco synchronisation controller:
  
  WARNING: These modifications to the controller imply modifications in the Alfresco.properties file. Ensure to have the corresponding version.
• Added the possibility of specifying in the Alfresco.properties file the desired format for the documents. The format can be specified globally or by document. If the format is not specified, the original format of the document is used. The tag allows keeping the original format too. The format can also depend on a property’s value.
• If the title is not specified, the name of the document is used if the node to create is a document and the name of the document model is used if the node is a folder.
• When a document is sent to Alfresco, if one of its parent folders already exists, the not-empty properties from the Librex document that are intended for this folder are replaced in Alfresco.

• When showing a PDF document depending on the font used the text could be blurred (2.22.5 did not fix the problem).
• When pressing the associated documents button for not showing them up, this option was not saved.
• In the automatic importation, the automatically filled date was wrong if it was populated by the file date.

• An error could occur when opening the scanning window which was showing an error with WIA.

• During the automatic importation on AS/400, few errors could be generated in « .invalid » file. Those false errors where caused by the fact that Librex was attempting to read a file while it was in construction.
• After a Librex update, it was possible that the client would not restart automatically.
• The service, Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) get disable to avoid problems while scanning because of problems which this service brings, after which the service is set back to its original state.

• The way users enter data in the scanning and importation windows have been improved.
• In the scanning and importation window, the way batches are displayed has been modified to allow users to see who is currently working on a batch and if the batch is locked by another user.
• Add the operation « See other users batches » which allows defining user or group who can see others batches in the scanning window and the importation window. When a user has this right, he can activate this option from the scanning and importation window (Menu > Display > See other users batches).

• Update of the java virtual machine of the Librex server, from 1.4.2_03 to 1.4.2._19. This update fixes the problem of day light time change among other fixes.
• Optimisation of the working mode of the Librex server (option: -server).
• The scanning and importation windows can be divided in configurable sub steps. Ex.: Scanning, Indexation, Validation.
• In the administration, in server parameters, it’s now possible to configure the number of days before a batch should be considered late. When a batch is expired it appears in red in the scanning and importation windows.
